We have some great things going on!
English
We finished our research reports on endangered animals two weeks ago! Students researched for two weeks in the library, created an outline of their report using Inspiration in the computer lab, and the turned their outline into a final draft. Great job! We are currently learning about the 6 Traits of Writing. Students are rotating their way around the 300 building to learn about these different aspects of writing.
Science
We have just begun learning about volcanoes. Students have learned that wherever a plate boundary occurs, volcanoes and earthquakes are sure to follow. In fact, last week we did a mapping earthquakes and volcanoes lab and we noticed a pattern in their locations. Here is an extra credit assignment you can complete for science! Click on this link to see a volcano erupt! Need more extra credit-here!
Greece
We are now just beginning our studies on Ancient Greece. We begin with the geography of Greece and then onto it's social structure, religion, and mythology.
Want some extra credit in history? See Ms. Walker in class!!!
Field Trip
On Friday, May 8 our class will be going to Safari West in Santa Rosa. I will be sending home information in regards to the trip in April. If you would like to chaperone or drive, please contact me.
Grammar
We have been working on prepositions, helping verbs, adverbs, and infinitives. We have a cumulative grammar test on Friday.
